Multimedia: Autism Camp: Albert

Across Western North Carolina 630 public school students have some form of autism, and in the state more than 7,260 students have the disorder. It’s estimated that one in every 150 children born in the United States will have autism.
Mountain Adventure Camp in Black Mountain is the largest and oldest residential camp program for people with autism in the country. In 2010, it became Camp Lakey Gap. This video focuses on camp counselor Matt Richmond's experience taking care of Albert Spalding, a child with low-functioning autism.
